Situated Cognition

It was interesting to read about this learning style as this is how I believe we should be learning the majority of the time. Hence becoming a teacher should be done through an apprenticeship style setup. When teaching I hope to be able to use this style as a base for creating lessons, as I believe this is the best way for me to understand how best to set out a lesson; i'm sure i'll evolve my ways as i progess as a Learning Manager.

As part of the mobile wiki task i found the following sentence and it made me think of Kingsley and his future plans - "foreign language acquisition will be more successful if the learners are immersed in conversational and cultural activities of increasing complexity and diversity, rather than concentrating on discrete-grammar exercises using recitation or paper-and-pencil worksheets."
This is something that i believe will be a great example to confirm my beliefs in this style of learning.

On a side, an interesting thing about the wiki that i read was that, if you wanted to add a review you had to have a PhD; not sure what to say about that, (up themselves?).
